Children will continue to receive the nasal spray.

The surgery will be vaccinating children at clinical risk aged 6 months to 17 years and well children aged 2 and 3 on the 31 August 2018. Children who turn 2 after this date are not eligible for the vaccine.  It is expected the nasal spray will be available for us to order around the middle of October and invitations will be sent out nearer the time.

We are only allocated a limited number of vaccines and therefore any patients who do not fall into these categories but are eligible for a flu vaccine must have the vaccine at school. This includes children in Reception class through to Year 5.

Stopping pharmacy ordering of prescriptions on behalf of patients

As of the 1st March 2017, we NO LONGER accept any repeat prescripiton requests from community pharmacies on behalf of patients.  Patients (or their carer, nominated family member/friend) will have to order repeat prescriptions directly from the GP practice themselves.  This can be done by dropping your prescription request into the box in Reception, by post, fax or online.  If you would like to order your prescripiton online, please bring some ID and ask Reception for a username and password.

Collection of prescriptions from GP practices by community pharmacies will not be affected.

The 23 Rotherham practices are making this change, with full support of NHS Rotherham CCG, have carefully considered all options, engaged extensively with key stakeholders (patients, carers, patient participation groups and voluntary groups)

Please read the Prescription Leaflet for more information

Repeat Dispensing

If you, or someone you care for, use the same medicines on a daily basis (ie regularly), you may be able to beneift from using the NHS electronic repeat dispensing service the practice offers to suitable patients.  This service means you won't have to order your repeat prescription from the GP practice every time you need more medicine.  Just collect your dispensed medication from your nominated community pharmacy.  please read the attached leaflet and speak to a member of the practice to check if this service would beneift you.

Improving access to general practice: evening and weekend appointments now available

Patients who are registered at this practice can now book an appointment to see a GP or ANP on Thursday evenings, after 6.30pm and on Friday mornings, before 8am. Patients can also book an appointment with a GP on Saturdays.  Saturday appointments will take place at Dinnington Medial Centre.  Talk to the practice receptionist to find out more or book an appointment.

By March 2019 everyone in England will benefit from access to general practice appointments in the evenings and weekends at a time that is most convenient to them. This is part of a national drive to help improve access to general practice and get the best possible outcomes for patients. Further information is available at
